Goal: $5,500.00
Specific Need
Over the past year, EUCC Youth Engagement has been actively serving our community. One of the difficult realities we continue to see is that many children and youth experience hunger. In response, we intentionally incorporate support for food insecurity into everything we do.
Highlights from this past year include:
Free Swim & Snack Packs
We sponsored a weekly free swim at the Marysville City Pool and provided snack packs available for all who attended. A total of 677 individuals participated in the free swim, and approximately 300 snack packs were distributed. We are deeply grateful for the partnership and support of the Marysville City Pool.
Food Baskets
The children and youth of our church prepared and delivered 35 food baskets to families in need, in partnership with PEPC and Infant and Toddler Services of Kansas. Each basket included non-perishable items such as pasta, rice, soup, canned vegetables, as well as perishable items like milk, eggs, butter, yogurt, cheese, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, and bread. We are thankful for the collaboration of these partner organizations.
Looking Ahead
In the coming year, we hope to expand our free swim program, increase the number of snack packs and food baskets, and explore new ways to engage children and youth. At the center of every initiative will remain our commitment to ensuring children and youth have access to food.
Last year, these efforts cost approximately $4,500. Our goal for this year is $5,500 to grow and deepen this important work.
