How It Works

Here's how it works:

• Donors come to the event and make a donation, or make an online (website will be made available}, to one or several of the participating organizations.
• Matching funds of $100,000 are available to provide a 50% match up to $3,000 per organization, until match funds are depleted. 
• Donors will select which organization fund(s) to support. 100% of their donation will go to the organization’s MCF fund. Although gifts of any amount are welcome and encouraged, donations of a minimum of $25 will receive a local match at 50¢ on the dollar up to a maximum of $2,000 per charitable organization per donor.
• Combined donations up to a total of $3,000 will be matched at 50%, giving a maximum of $3,000 in matching funds to any one organization
• For example: Jane Doe makes a $1,000 donation to Organization X, $1,000 will go to the Organization X MCF fund.  Organization X will receive a $500 match from MCF. If Jane Doe makes a $2,500 donation to Organization X, the matching grant from MCF will be $1250.

Information for you to know

• The money earned by each non-profit group is an outright grant and may be used as they wish. Some may choose to establish their endowment or they may choose to use it for day-to-day operating expenses.
• Gifts can be made by cash, check, or online using a credit card. Cash and check gifts should be made in person at the event. Credit card gifts can be made online at a remote location or at the event.
• When donating by check, one check must be made payable to Marysville Community Foundation. A separate form will be used to indicate which nonprofit(s) will benefit.
• A donation form needs to be attached to each check with the charities noted.
• Throughout the event, one individual donor who has made a gift in person at the Pony Up Marysville event will be randomly chosen every hour to win $100.00 for the charity of their choice.
