M.U.P. Depot Preservation Society Heat & A/C System

Goal: $300,000.00

Specific Need

We are essentially complete with the Architecture, Engineering, and Design of the Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing equipment systems and distribution network for the Depot. Specifications for systems and construction are nearly complete. Unfortunately, these systems need to be installed in concert, which will require a General Contractor. There is no practical or cost-effective way to piecemeal these systems into a historic building like our Historic Depot. We are making every effort to preserve the architectural beauty of this masterpiece of construction. Ductwork will not be visible or a distraction to the beauty of the Depot.

The Mechanical Systems include the Heating and A/C equipment, the ductwork and the electrical controls. Seven individual units, many working in tandem, will maintain a comfortable environment year around for our visitors and all our structural and archival properties. This just can’t be done in phases. We are ready to take this big step and our community is ready to reap the rewards of a 12-month-per-year, event, education, and conference center. We need your help!

It is the vision of the Marysville Union Pacific Depot Preservation Society to make the Historic Depot a self-sustaining, primary attraction in Marysville, offering event space, educational programs, and social events, in a historically significant architectural setting, benefiting our local / regional communities with added economic benefit, community engagement and improvement in their quality of life.

You know we have been a growing source of excitement in the community with our events, our involvement in, and the completion of successful projects. We recently doubled the size of our Board of Directors as we prepare to launch our major infrastructure rebuild. The talent and beneficial networks that we have added provide great potential in helping us pursue our vision.
