Good Shepherd Lutheran School provides a Christ-centered, high-quality education to students from Preschool 3, Preschool 4, and Kindergarten through 8th grade.
The existence of the school dates back to 1868. Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church both established a school near Bremen, KS. In 1976, the two schools joined together, forming an association. In 1994, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church joined the association, and a new school was built in Marysville; now known as Good Shepherd Lutheran School Association.
What we believe:
- Ensure that Good Shepherd Lutheran School teaches and confesses in accordance with the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, and in accordance with The Brief Statement of 1932 and A Statement of Scriptural and Confessional Principles of 1973.
- Good Shepherd Lutheran School exists to fulfill Christ's mandate to the Church to "teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19
- The congregations will ensure that Good Shepherd Lutheran School teaches and confesses in accordance with the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, and in accordance with The Brief Statement of 1932 and A Statement of Scriptural and Confessional Principles of 1973.
- The congregations will aggressively support the provision of Lutheran Christian education and training, and maintain an environment of Christian forgiveness, Christian life skills mentoring, and love for every child in attendance.
- Good Shepherd Lutheran School shall ensure the education and training of the children in general education subjects in accordance with the accreditation standards of the State of Kansas.
- The congregations will foster and promote the close and integral bond between congregation, parents and teachers in the provision of said Christian and general education.
- In addition, the congregations expect the staff of Good Shepherd Lutheran School, as trained and called teachers of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, to display the highest of Christian morality and conduct before the students both in their public and private lives.
- Finally, the congregations shall promote the mentoring, guiding and equipping of its students for leadership within the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and within the church at large, and shall actively encourage and support the same.
