St. Paul's Episcopal Church

Profile

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a small parish that values its heritage of sacramental worship and community service, guards the present by “expressing a loving concern for each other” and works to ensure the future by welcoming all and giving of our time and treasure to God’s work.

The history of the parish reaches back to 1856, when the first Episcopal missionary bishop in the United States and the first Episcopal clergyman to set foot in Kansas came to Marysville. St. Paul’s was organized as a mission in 1888, and the brick structure where we worship today was built that year. To this day St Paul’s is the oldest house of worship still in continuous use in Marysville. The Episcopal Cabin, next door to the church, was built in 1933 of white pine logs. It continues to be used as the parish hall.

St. Paul’s remains an active place of worship. We’re fortunate to have a local priest, Greg Doll, dedicated each week to Eucharistic ministry. Beyond the church building, our community outreach ministry includes providing a weekly English language class for new members of the community, volunteering at the Marshall County Food Pantry and Marysville recycling, and providing worship and a quarterly meal for residents at Cambridge Place Assisted Living. We conduct annual fundraisers, including a St. Valentine’s pancake feed and Pie in the Sky to raise funds and celebrate fellowship with our community. The longevity of St. Paul’s is a testament to our faith in God and commitment to helping ourselves and others grow into the love God has for us all.

We welcome your gift toward the church and its missions. Donations will be used to continue improvements in the historic cabin parish hall and church in an effort to make them more accessible to the community and expanding our outreach projects.

In closing, we recall the words of St. Paul: “In all things, give thanks.” We are grateful for any support and invite you to join us for worship in person or in spirit.
