HOW YOU CAN HELP TODAY

Community Memorial Healthcare (CMH) prides itself on staying current with the latest medical technologies and equipment, allowing patients to receive high quality care in their own back yard. The cost to do so is great, and we rely on the generosity of our donors to help make this possible.

CMH also takes great pride in our staff. From licensed medical professionals who treat and care for our patients, to office and environmental staff who manage day-to-day operations for the facility, our team is comprised of compassionate, caring individuals who each add value to the collective whole.

It is vital for the hospital to remain a leader amongst our competitors and provide patients with treatments utilizing the latest technologies right here at home. We are able to achieve this through hard work, dedication to our patients, and assistance from our donors. Community Memorial Healthcare Foundation (CMH Foundation) works with department directors and administration to fund identified needs within the hospital. These are generally pieces of medical equipment used by staff to care for patients.

Donations made to CMH Foundation through the Pony Up Marysville Match Day on May 5, 2023, will be designated toward fulfilling the unmet equipment needs below from our 2022 Year End Appeal campaign as well as a new equipment request and a newly developed fund . We invite you to partner with us during this event and see the impact your gift can make to support rural healthcare.

Staff Recruitment & Scholarship Fund

The Staff Recruitment & Scholarship Fund was created in 2023 to assist Community Memorial Healthcare in the recruitment and retention of permanent staff. Like many healthcare facilities across Kansas and the nation as a whole, CMH has experienced a shortage of permanent staff, especially in the nursing field, and have had to resolve to filling openings with traveling staff. Not only is this not a cost-effective option, it poses undue burden on permanent staff who must constantly train new travelers as they come in. Community Memorial Healthcare is creating new tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment programs, which will provide tuition assistance to students in nursing and other related medical fields, with the understanding that, upon completion of their education, they will commit to work at CMH for a minimum number of years based on the years of assistance provided. CMH Foundation will use donations to this fund to help supplement these programs.

ABOUT COMMUNITY MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE

Community Memorial Healthcare (CMH) is a private, not-for-profit, 25-bed critical access hospital. It offers emergency, acute care, obstetrics, surgical, ancillary, and outpatient services in addition to three rural health clinics, home health services, a durable medical equipment store, and contract services of physical, occupational and speech therapies, dialysis clinic, and anesthesia. The hospital employs six family practice physicians, one general surgeon, and six nurse practitioners. Its outpatient referral clinic offers a wide range of specialty services provided by over 25 physicians from Manhattan, KS, and Lincoln, NE. CMH is the only hospital in Marshall County and is a safety net provider of healthcare services to the county and surrounding areas. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year providing care and services to all individuals regardless of their ability to pay. Each year the hospital provides over $1 million in uncompensated care.

OUR COMMITMENT TO HEALTHCARE

Healthcare is a rapidly advancing field requiring staff and physicians to constantly hone their skills, facilities to be equipped with modern technology and offer a vast array of services, all while operating as efficiently as possible. The foundation relies on the generosity of our donors to help fill the monetary gap and allow CMH to continue providing services locally, utilizing up-to-date medical technology, at the level of quality our patients have come to expect. We are proud to support CMH staff, working across all departments of the hospital, providing quality care and compassion right here at home.
